Ely Creylo

Ely Crelyo (Ruth Elizabeth Ocampo Gamboa) pianist, holds a B.M degree in Piano Performance. Currently Ely is a piano instructor at the Eastside Music School and iPiano Lab.

Ely was born in Quito-Ecuador, where she started her piano studies at the age of 5 at the Mozarte Conservatory (1997-1999). Then, she attended the Franz Liszt Conservatory (2001-2003). By 2011, Ely had completed the “Tècnico” and “Tecnólogo en Música”, these are all the levels offered at the National Conservatory of Music (2003 2011). In 2011, Ely was awarded a scholarship to attend the International Piano Festival at The Texas State University. Also Ely was awarded with the Clara F. Nelson Music Scholarship. Thus, Ely began her bachelor in Music Performance, at the Texas State University – San Marcos. On Fall 2016, Ely graduated with a B.M degree in Piano Performance, under the tutelage of Dr. Kayla Chon (USA-Korea). Along with her piano studies, Ely studied composition with Professor Richard Hall.  She is a proud member of two dry music fraternities, Mu Phi Epsilon and Kappa Kappa Psi, which are international and professional music fraternities. Both provided her with additional opportunities for making music and service.

The last trip Ely had with the School of Music was to Santa Fe NM. As part of The Texas State Mysterium For New Music Ensemble. They represented Texas at The College Music Society in Santa Fe-New Mexico (Fall 2016).

Ely believes that music is a gift, one that she is passionate about sharing with her students.
