Lane Garner is a guitarist and music instructor with over 10 years of experience teaching students of all ages and skill levels. Well-versed in many styles, Lane teaches complete beginners, intermediate players, college music majors, and even working musicians. He has his Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees in Jazz Studies from the University of North Texas. As a performer, he has played a wide variety of music across the country and internationally.
Lane’s varied musical background makes him an ideal teacher for students interested in jazz, blues, rock/pop, funk, and classical guitar styles. His primary goal as a teacher is to focus intently on specific aspects of each student’s musicianship—technique, harmonic concepts, ear-training, theory, etc. while making each lesson fun. Students take their playing to the next level by studying music theory, technique, jazz and blues improvisation, gear and tone, reading music, playing styles, and more.
