Our very own guitar teacher Jamey Cummins has written a method book for guitar! It’s called Movable Shapes fro Guitar and the purpose of the book is to help guitar players unlock the fretboard through a systematic, visual and logical approach to learning guitar. Here’s an excerpt from the book which focuses on learning various triad inversions in order to create smooth and interesting chord progressions. Notice how Jamey is able to take a few basic shapes to create new and interesting variations of familiar chord progressions. In the video Jamey plays an etude he wrote entitled “Radio Face”. He also walks us through his thought process and explains his systematic approach.
