Piano AND VOICE Teacher
Sidney CárdenAS
Sidney Cárdenas is a pianist, vocalist, composer, producer, performing artist, and music educator with more than 10 years of teaching experience. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Music with an emphasis in piano and has worked with children, teenagers, and adults in schools, music academies, private lessons, and ensemble settings in Colombia and the United States. Her piano teaching combines technique, music reading, ear training, interpretation, improvisation, and creativity, adapting to each student’s level, interests, and goals.
Alongside piano, Sidney has developed a strong practice as a vocalist and voice teacher through individual lessons, choir instruction, and performance. She focuses on healthy technique, listening, expression, confidence, and helping students discover their own sound. Her pedagogical background includes experience with Yamaha Music and approaches influenced by Suzuki, Carl Orff, and Dalcroze.
Sidney is also the artist behind Animaleja, a project in which she works as a composer, producer, vocalist, keyboardist, and performer, combining electronic music, synthesizers, Latin American and Caribbean rhythmic influences, and experimental sound. Her work has been presented in Colombia, Mexico, Brazil, Spain, and the United States, including SXSW, BIME Bilbao, Altavoz Festival, and Third Man Records in Nashville. Her experience as an active artist strongly shapes her teaching, encouraging students to develop solid musical foundations while also exploring creativity, improvisation, composition, and performance.
